Oil Africa SAIMechE Technical Conference for Offshore Oil & Gas Technology
The 3rd sub-Saharan Oil Gas Petrochem Conference, Oil Africa 2008 will be taking place this year on the 17th & 18th March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The theme for this year’s conference is “Managing Change in Africa”.
The conference organisers have been working closely with SAIMechE (South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering) to run a technical conference in parallel to the main conference. We have found a need to expose young engineers (with less than 10 years experience in the off-shore engineering and construction) to various aspects of the off-shore industry, and believe that a technical conference introducing these aspects will be well received.
The conference will address and introduce a range of technical aspects aimed specifically at the relatively inexperienced. SAIMechE views the development of young engineering resources as a key component of economic development, and a conference of this nature would certainly support this aspect of their mission.
The 1 1/2 day conference will be held on the 18th & 19th March 2008 and will be CPD accredited. |
