PETRO.T.EX AFRICA 2009

The Petro.t.ex expo will enable the showcasing of new projects and developments to the media and industry. It will facilitate the display and marketing of the latest innovations and technical advancements, precision engineering tools, equipment, materials and other peripherals, providing refinery and pipeline operators and their respective purchasing departments a valuable opportunity of expanding their supplier’s database.

Petro.t.ex Africa 2009 is the definitive African refining event that aims to highlight and explore new developments, expansions, changes and challenges that face the midstream oil, gas and petrochemical industry. It is an opportunity for the major players to showcase new developments and projects and to bring themselves and related industries up to speed with what’s happening in their market. A meeting place, melting pot and catalyst, this event will ultimately highlight what the region is doing to meet the challenge. It will also provide emerging suppliers with a unique platform to exhibit to the multi-nationals. Co-located with Petro.t.ex 2009 will be the well established and very successful Pumps, Valves and Pipes Africa and Watertec Africa.

Trading on synergies and crossovers this adds a unique dimension to the expo and provides unrivalled opportunities for procurement, sales, networking and career development. Following a similar format as the successful upstream event, OIL AFRICA in Cape Town, the expo ensures maximum exposure for exhibitors to all the key players and important decision makers.

Exhibition highlights include workshops, interactive displays, delegate lunches and networking areas, a BEE platform and an exhibitor networking function.

Along with factors such as the fast rising global demand for energy, mounting pressure for “more energy and less carbon”, increasing costs for crude, Southern Africa’s recent economic growth has resulted in a thirst for energy unparalleled in its history. With major global players scrambling to control dwindling supplies, environmental pressure, the ever constant call to maximize returns, ageing infrastructure and the growing dependence on imports, our refining capacity is in the spotlight…

Bucking against the current global trend of downscaling investment in downstream refining, Southern Africa’s energy giants have risen to the challenge and designed and developed ambitious, technologically advanced, billion dollar expansion projects. Offering not only the promise of better fuel security and the reduction of dependence on imported product, these projects bring with them the much needed promise of investment, regional job creation, infrastructure development, growth and economic prosperity.
